About Me
I am a New York State Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC). I am the daughter of a psychotherapist and a psychiatric nurse.
Looking back, I began informal psychotherapy training as a very young child. My formal professional training has centered on Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP), a highly effective short-term evidence based approach, and Compassionate Inquiry.
Prior to becoming a therapist I traveled extensively, built a career in fashion in Manhattan, had extensive therapy myself, and eventually became the mother of 3, all of which, in hindsight, has made me a better therapist.
I am not a finished product. I grow and learn from each client. I am a work in progress in all aspects of my life and expect I always will be. I believe that individual psychotherapy is essentially two imperfect people (you and me) working out a highly intimate relationship for the sole purpose of helping you heal. With couples or family therapy the number of imperfect people multiplies.
I look forward to coming to work each day. I am unwaveringly grateful for my profession. I am honored that people trust me and want to work with me.
